- As many applications are submitted each year, the following criteria have been established.
- Applicant may apply directly or be recommended by his/her chain or command.
- Applicant must be a member of the emergency services (fire, ems, or law enforcement).
- Applicant must be an active member of their honor guard unit.
- Applicant must be in good standing with their honor guard unit (making training and events).
- Applicant must be attending the Milwaukee-based events for the first time.
- Applicant may receive the scholarship only one time.
What is included in the scholarship:
- Honor Guard Clinic
- Three days of practical and classroom instruction.
- Morning meal (included with lodging accommodations)
- Noon meal each day of training.
- Lodging accommodations at the host hotel.
- Transportation to and from the training venue.
- Major League Baseball ticket for game after presentation of the colors.
- Special guest at the departure dinner (cost of meal is covered)
- Challenge coin
- T-Shirt
- Round trip ground transportation between General Mitchell International Airport and host hotel (if recipient is flying into Milwaukee for the event).
- Funeral Operations School
- Two days of classroom instruction.
- Morning meal (included with lodging accommodations)
- Noon meal each day of training.
- Lodging accommodations at the host hotel.
- Transportation to and from the training venue.
Whats not included in the scholarship:
- Airfare (if applicable)
- Rental vehicle (if applicable)
- Milage / fuel costs
- Evening meals / beverages
- Items for sale at the clinic (t-shirts, challenge coins, patches, etc.)
- Concession at the Major League Baseball game.
- Transportation to non-clinic related functions or locations
